Canon imageCLASS MF445dw Driver Download– The Canon imageCLASS MF445dw is a great printer for a small office or home. It has an excellent cartridge system that can produce an incredible number of pages, so cartridges do not need to be changed as often. It prints very fast, has a scanner with an automatic document feeder and an ethernet port for a reliable network connection. However, the lack of color printing may be a problem for some.

The screenshot is amazing. A large color touchscreen with three capacitive touch buttons underneath. Visibility is good when standing or sitting, and the screen can be tilted vertically if needed. The screen feels responsive and the menus are easy to navigate.

The Canon imageCLASS MF445dw is a great small business black and white laser printer. It is a complete solution that comes with great scanning features, fast print speeds and an excellent cartridge system that produces an incredible number of pages. Also, the toner cartridge is relatively inexpensive, making the total cost per print very low. Unfortunately, like most laser printers, this printer is bad at printing photos and cannot print on glossy photo paper. On the good side, it has a wide range of connectivity options, including printing from a mobile device using AirPrint, Mopria, or Canon’s own mobile companion app.

Canon MF445dw has great scanning capabilities. It has an automatic document feeder to handle long, multi-page documents and is capable of duplex scanning. The maximum scan resolution is 600 DPI, but that should be more than enough for most businesses that only need to scan black and white documents. The only issue is that when using the Scanner MF Utility software to scan on a computer, the printer cannot connect wirelessly to the computer and only works over a wired USB connection. Also, to perform duplex scanning, you need to enable it manually in settings by checking the box next to ‘Scan Both Sides’.

If you need a scanner that can scan at higher resolutions, look at the Brother MFC-L2750DW.

Canon’s imageCLASS MF445dw cartridge system is outstanding. Not only does it produce an incredible page count, it also accepts the 057H high yield black toner cartridge when you need to boost your yield even further. The drum unit is pre-installed, so you don’t need to replace the drums separately. This printer accepts third-party toner cartridges; however, its use may void the warranty. For a monochrome supertank printer with a much higher page yield, check out the Epson WorkForce ST-M1000.

Like most laser printers, the Canon MF445dw’s photo print quality is very poor. It can only print black and even then the image looks blurry and lacks detail. Our test images were printed on plain letter size paper as they cannot be printed on glossy paper and do not support photo paper sizes.

The Canon MF445dw has great connectivity options. For external storage devices, this printer has two USB ports, one on the front of the printer and one on the back. Unfortunately, it does not support SD card. To connect via Wi-Fi Direct, press the ‘Mobile Portal’ option in the Main Menu, it will display the username and password to be used for the connection.

As the Canon imageCLASS MF445dw is a business printer, it is only compatible with the Canon PRINT Business mobile app. It’s available on both Android and iOS and offers mostly the same functionality as most consumer-grade printer apps. You can print, scan and copy, but remember that the scanning resolution is 300 DPI when using your smartphone’s camera to scan.
