Canon PIXMA MP620 Driver Free Download– The Canon Pixma MP620 is one of the better performing multifunction color inkjet printers for the price. The MP620 prints faster than competing models, and delivers better quality documents too. And even though it doesn’t have a fax feature, the Canon MP620 can be connected via USB or to a network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

Design

One of the drawbacks of the MP620 is the front panel controls. The central jog wheel is surrounded by arrow keys. Another group of buttons populates the control panel, some of which are dynamic function keys, which require you to look at the 2.5-inch LCD screen to find out what they do. The end result is a cluttered panel and an at times confusing user interface. Another drawback is that the print head alignment process requires the user to check the print and make an assessment; most competing products handle this step automatically.

In typical Canon fashion, printers have separate inkjet print heads, and then individual ink tanks. The end result is that consumables cost much less than competing designs that include an inkjet printer in the ink cartridge. The MP620 has a standard cyan/magenta/yellow / black ink tank, but also a second large-capacity black ink tank.

The MP620 does not have a fax feature or automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanner/copier functions. It does have a USB port on the front in addition to a 9-in-1 card reader, but you can’t print photos directly from a USB drive. However, you can scan documents and photos directly to a USB drive. Apart from its Ethernet port, the Pixma MP620 also has built-in support for 802.11b / g wireless network connections. The network configuration software worked pretty well, although we had to change the IP address for the printer port to establish a wireless connection.

Performance
The printer was very fast in our tests; via a wireless connection, an average of 5.9 pages per minute when printing a five-page test document, and it took only 57 seconds to print a 4 x 6 photo; this time beating the Brother MFC-490CW and HP Photosmart C4580 by a sizable margin. Printing via its USB connection produced similar results of 5.8 ppm for a five-page document and 59 seconds for a 4 x 6 photo. Scanning was also fast at 20 seconds per page, and copying took 39 seconds per page; both times were only seconds slower than the MFC-490CW running.

Photo quality is above average, better than Brother MFC-490CW, and only slightly lower than HP Photosmart C4580. The color gradient is great, but the colors don’t look quite as saturated as on the HP printer. Then again, HP printers are optimized for photos.
